Description

Species: Pleurotus eryngii, otherwise known as The king oyster mushroom or King Trumpet mushroom.

This delicious specimen is an edible mushroom native to the Mediterranean regions of Europe and the Middle East and is also grown in many parts of Asia. It is a fairly easy mushroom to cultivate at home. The king oyster grows on sterile rye grain and shredded wheat straw. It can also be grown on wooden dowels for inoculating stumps and logs.
